When a cavity is formed (caries lesion)on the teeth of the child it should be restored, because it will gradually grow, with the risk of causing greater problems (pain, swelling, pulp therapy, e.t.c.).

The restorationof primary(juvenile) teeth is as important as that of permanent teeth. The first primary teeth erupt around the age of 6 months and the last ones shed at the age of approximately 12-13 years.

Their preservation within the child’s mouth is necessary for their physical and psychological growth. Restorations (fillings) in children’s mouths are performed with the use of a rubber dam, for the child’s safety and comfort, and with modern aesthetic resin-based adhesive materials.
