Pulp therapy of primary teeth

It is common that in primary teeth that are very damaged, caries (microbial infection) reaches the pulp of the tooth.

In these cases, depending on the extent of the infection, there are two options, those of pulpotomy(partial pulpotomy) and pulpectomy (complete pulp therapy) on the primary tooth.

In pulpotomy theupper part(infected) of the pulp is removed, and the pulp of the root, after the application of certain medications, is maintained until naturally resorbed (dissipated) as the permanent tooth is erupting.

During the complete pulp therapy, the entire pulp is removed, the tooth is cleaned and its inside is infused with biocompatible materials whichwill resorb along with the roots of the primary tooth, at the time of its normal exfoliation.
